A long-standing relationship between business development manager at Park Electrical Distributors, Mark Barrigan and finance manager at the Heel & Toe Children’s Charity, Matthew Duggan, saw the team at Park design and supply lighting to the charity’s new hydrotherapy centre.

The Heel & Toe Children’s Charity was established in June 2008.

Based in Chester-le-Street, Durham, the charity provides vital therapy to children with disabilities in the North East through hydrotherapy, massage and movement therapy, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, speech and language therapy and SEN Tutoring Service.

LED lighting was supplied throughout the building providing an energy efficient and cost-effective option for the client.

Sensory LED lighting via LED Tape which shone different colours onto the ceiling was a standout feature within the swimming pool. This is operated via a remote control colour dial providing a stimulating ambiance for children who may suffer from conditions such as cerebral palsy.

Park worked alongside ICD Electrical, Consett, who fitted and installed all electrical equipment within the building. Elite Home Improvements also provided its services, with managing director, Paul Martinson, a trustee of the charity, heading up the project from start to finish.

“I have known Mark for a number of years and brought the team at Park in to design and supply the lighting within the new centre. They went above and beyond to deliver an excellent service at a very competitive price.”
