Based on the Newcastle Helix site, The Catalyst is a £50M purpose-built home for both the National Innovation Centre for Data (NICAD) and the National Innovation Centre for Ageing. (NICA)

The former provides a global hub to facilitate links between innovators, businesses and academia. NICAD will deliver insights that make UK organisations aware of the value of data, bring data analytics skills into the workforce and connect organisations into networks of data skills.

Meanwhile, NICA provides insights to brands and enterprise on Ageing IntelligenceTM so allowing businesses to capitalise on the longevity economy.

Leveraging the experience and expertise of older adults while harnessing big data, NICA is well positioned to optimise the opportunities provided by the demographic revolution.

Called in by the UK’s leading mechanical and electrical contractor, NG Bailey, the lighting design team at Park Electrical Distributors was tasked with the supply, coordination, logistics and problem solving around a £700,000 LED architectural linear lighting system throughout the building.

Customer Feedback

"Albeit the works were initially competitively tendered, the lighting design team’s market knowledge and technical capability was of great assistance in enabling the successful specification, procurement and on-time delivery of a lighting solution with considerable design changes. This, combined with their ability to offer storage and delivery solutions to service a very small city centre site, were key to the successful delivery of this element of the works.”
